Creating the lamp shade.

Over the Thanksgiving break we were to create different textures using combinations of our past homework. Today during class we posted them up on the wall and then walked around through the different classrooms to observe what others had done. We then went back to our original class and took sticky notes and voted for the ones that we thought were the most strong so that the creator could narrow down their ideas. The pictures above show the ideas on the wall and students voting for the ones they liked most.

show and tell time!

These are just a few team photos that I took while we were setting up our letters, waiting for class to start, and switching shifts of staying with our word. We were very pleased with how the project turned out and I think I can speak for the group when I say that we are proud of our work.

These photos are of different groups and their projects. Everyone worked very hard on their projects and I think that you could definitely tell when you walked around campus and observed other groups.

what language looks like.. in nature.

Our group tried to find an area around Potters Lake that would portray our word best. We tired a bunch of different areas and also played with the lighting. We thought that the lighting would help the viewer get a better understanding of the image and the meaning that we were trying to portray as a group. We found some things more successful than others and it helped us when determining where to place our word for the final walk through tour.

constructing the letters.

Today in class we had a demonstration on how to construct a book to complete our color projects. Afterwards we had some more in class work time and my group spent this time getting as much as possible done. The picture above are my "groupies" working hard!

step one: creating the model.

Today during class we did critiques of our color/words project. After that we started working on creating our word out of foam core. It took us a while, but we ended up with seven 12 inch letters! Next step, figure out the setting..

Happenings in class.

Today during class we put our homework up on the wall and did critiques. Mark and I were super tired today and needed coffee to wake ourselves up. This is what happens when we drink coffee that early in the morning.
